1:1 Therapy & Counselling

What can you expect from individual therapy and counselling sessions at SiT?

Following some initial stabilisation support which provides a solid foundation for your healing journey in Phase one, you may feel you would benefit from further support in the form of 1:1 counselling to process your trauma.

This is the second phase of SiT’s model and you can expect a trauma informed approach helping you to address and make sense of specific issues relating to your trauma in a safe space. You set the agenda based on what you feel you would most welcome support with and we review on a regular basis to ensure the sessions are meeting your needs and addressing only what you are comfortable to share.

Counselling is not for everyone so there is no expectation for you have it. We work collaboratively with you to tailor the support you receive to your specific needs.

Our therapeutic team is made up of trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists. All practitioners are members of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and/or BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists). Care and consideration are taken during the allocation process to ensure your therapist is a good match for you.
